Manila to restart talks with NPA

MANILA (AFP): Philippine government negotiators left yesterday
for the Netherlands to resume peace talks with exiled communist
rebel leaders, an official said.

Manuel Yan, the chief negotiator in successfully concluded
peace talks with Moslem guerrillas, told reporters the
negotiators left Manila on Wednesday.

No details of the negotiations were given. But Yan said: "We
hope that these talks will result in the resumption of
negotiations in accordance with the agenda agreed upon."

Ending the rebellion by the Communist Party of the
Philippines-New People's Army would cap efforts by President
Fidel Ramos to end all insurgences in the Philippines.
