Manila gets Japan's loan
MANILA (AFP): Japan extended yesterday a 20.051 billion yen (US$204.6 million) official development assistance package to the Philippines, the Japanese embassy here said.
The aid includes a 9.245 billion yen loan to improve the distribution facilities of 45 rural electric cooperatives, an embassy statement said.
There were six grant aid projects totaling 10.806 billion yen in the package to put up school buildings and rehabilitate water supply facilities damaged by typhoons, volcanic eruptions or earthquakes or that have deteriorated with age.
