Mangrove Planting via Donations and Interactive Games
In commemoration of World Environment Day on 5 June, Shopee Indonesia and BenihBaik.com have introduced the ‘Tanam Hutan Indonesia’ (Plant Indonesia’s Forests) programme. Running from 5 June to 20 July 2026, the programme specifically invites users to participate in nature conservation efforts.
Shopee users wishing to contribute can donate directly via the Donation feature and/or plant virtual trees through the Shopee Tanam game within the Shopee application. These virtual actions will be converted into real mangrove seedlings.
All collected donations and user participation in planting the virtual ‘Pohon Shopee Peduli’ (Shopee Care Tree) will be converted into tangible support for the conservation of the mangrove forest ecosystem in Jakarta. This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to supporting environmental preservation and coastal resilience.
Satrya Pinandita, Head of Corporate Affairs at Shopee Indonesia, stated that the programme is an expression of their commitment to supporting environmental conservation efforts by utilising digital technology to make user contribution easier.
“We believe that technology can serve as a bridge connecting more people to environmental conservation actions. Through this programme, we are leveraging Shoper’s digital ecosystem to provide an easy, engaging, and inclusive way for users to contribute, both through donations and the interactive Shopee Tanam game,” said Satrya, as reported in an official statement on Friday (5/6).
To ensure the effective distribution of donations, the company is collaborating with BenihBaik.com. Established in 2019, BenihBaik.com has become a trusted and verified CSR management platform that provides programmes based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

In addition to donations, users can also contribute to supporting the conservation of Indonesia’s forests by planting virtual trees through the interactive Shopee Tanam game available in the app.
From 5 June to 20 July 2026, users can plant special seedlings titled ‘Pohon Shopee Peduli’ and have the opportunity to win up to 100 Shopee Coins. User participation in this game will subsequently be converted into real support for mangrove ecosystem conservation efforts in Jakarta.
“Environmental conservation requires participation from various parties. Through Shopee Tanam, we want to demonstrate that small actions taken together can produce a larger impact. We hope this programme can encourage more members of the public to take part in protecting the mangrove ecosystem, which plays a vital role in the sustainability of coastal areas,” concluded Satrya.
