Mangrove Planting via Donations and Interactive Games

In commemoration of World Environment Day on 5 June, Shopee Indonesia and BenihBaik.com have introduced the Tanam Hutan Indonesia programme. Running from 5 June to 20 July 2026, the programme specifically invites users to contribute to nature conservation efforts. Shopee users who wish to participate can make direct donations via the Donation feature and/or plant virtual trees through the Shopee Tanam game on the Shopee app, which will be converted into mangrove seedlings. All collected donations and user participation in planting virtual Shopee Peduli Tree seedlings will be converted into tangible support for the conservation of mangrove forest ecosystems in Jakarta. This initiative forms part of the company’s commitment to supporting environmental preservation and coastal area resilience. Head of Corporate Affairs at Shopee Indonesia, Satrya Pinandita, stated that this programme represents the company’s commitment to supporting environmental conservation through the use of digital technology that makes it easy for users to contribute. ‘We believe that technology can be a bridge connecting more people with environmental conservation actions. Through this programme, we utilise Shopee’s digital ecosystem to present an easy, engaging, and inclusive way for users to contribute, whether through donations or the interactive Shopee Tanam game,’ said Satrya, as quoted from an official statement on Friday (5/6). To ensure the proper distribution of donations, the company is collaborating with BenihBaik.com. In addition to donations, users can also contribute to supporting Indonesian forest conservation by planting virtual trees through the interactive Shopee Tanam game available on the app. During the period of 5 June to 20 July 2026, users can plant a special seedling called the Shopee Peduli Tree and have the chance to win up to 100 Shopee Coins. User participation in this game will later be converted into real support for the conservation of the mangrove forest ecosystem in Jakarta. ‘Environmental conservation requires participation from various parties.
