Manggarai-Dukuh Atas LRT Requires Rp 2.7 Trillion, Pramono: Bonds or Danantara Possible

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has revealed that the continued development of the Jakarta LRT from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas requires a budget of approximately Rp 2.7 trillion. Pramono mentioned that several financing options are available for the project.

This was stated by Pramono following the inauguration of the Kelapa Gading-Manggarai LRT route alongside President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

“For the section from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas, it will cost Rp 2.7 trillion, which we will begin in early 2027,” said Pramono.

Pramono stated that the project’s funding could originate from several sources, including bonds, the regional budget (APBD), or financing from Danantara.

“Essentially, it could come from bonds, the APBD, or also from Danantara,” he said.

Pramono noted that the option of issuing bonds is one of the alternatives for the Jakarta LRT construction. However, following directives from President Prabowo, the option of financing through Danantara is also open.

Pramono emphasised that the Jakarta Provincial Government needs to maintain various financing alternatives to ensure the continuity of public transport development.

“As Governor and leader of Jakarta, I must certainly have various financing alternatives to complete the LRT in Jakarta,” he remarked.

In addition to continuing construction from Manggarai to Dukuh Atas, Pramono stated there are plans to expand Jakarta LRT connectivity to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and connect it to the Halim Perdanakusuma area, which serves as a connection point with the Whoosh high-speed rail.

“In accordance with the President’s directives, we will continue to JIS, from Kelapa Gading to JIS, and from Velodrome to Whoosh Halim,” he revealed.

According to Prabowo, if these plans are realised, the connectivity of the central Jakarta LRT will be further integrated. “If that is connected, the central part of the Jakarta LRT will effectively be linked from the north, east, and south, reaching the city centre,” he added.

Meanwhile, for the West Jakarta area, Pramono mentioned that mass transport development will be directed towards the MRT. He expressed hope that the MRT construction can commence soon.

“Hopefully, the groundbreaking can be performed by President Prabowo Subianto this year,” he added.
