The acceleration of electric vehicle (EV) adoption in Indonesia depends not only on product availability and charging infrastructure but also on accessible financing and direct consumer experience. To address this, PT Mandiri Utama Finance (MUF) has reinforced its support for the EV ecosystem through the ‘Coffee & Drive: EV & Hybrid Experience’ programme. The event was held simultaneously at Pani Sedayu City Kelapa Gading, Kopitagram Centang Biru BSD, and Taste & See Summarecon Bogor. Fifteen automotive brands presented various EV and hybrid models for public test drives, while also providing information on various financing options.

Acting President Director of MUF Dapot Parasian Sukoco Sinaga stated that financing is a strategic element in accelerating the penetration of electric vehicles in the national market. He noted that developing the EV ecosystem requires collaboration between financing companies, the banking sector, and the automotive industry. ‘Accelerating EV adoption depends not only on product availability but also on affordable and easily accessible financing support. MUF strives to be part of this ecosystem through competitive financing solutions,’ he said on Monday (29/6).

He added that the opportunity to try vehicles firsthand is a crucial factor in increasing public confidence in electric vehicle technology. Through this driving experience, potential consumers can become familiar with the performance, comfort, and technology offered before making a purchase decision. As part of the programme, MUF offers EV and hybrid vehicle financing with interest rates starting from 1.99% through the Livin’ Auto application. Various promotions are also available, including an administration fee of Rp1, administration fee discounts of up to 50%, shopping vouchers, and third-party liability insurance protection.

He emphasised that collaboration with automotive dealer networks is another attraction of this activity. Dealers provide test drive units and offer various sales promotions, ranging from price discounts, accessory bonuses, and instalment subsidies to priority vehicle availability for customers applying for financing through MUF. To boost enthusiasm, MUF introduced a Lucky Dip programme for consumers who place a Vehicle Order Letter during the event. Prizes include household electronic equipment, audio devices, and vehicle accessories, available for the first ten orders at each location daily.

Dapot Parasian Sukoco Sinaga affirmed that this initiative is part of MUF’s commitment to supporting the transformation of the transport sector towards more environmentally friendly mobility. ‘Through this programme, MUF reinforces its role as a financing company that supports the development of electric and hybrid vehicles in Indonesia, in line with efforts to strengthen the sustainable mobility ecosystem,’ he explained. He added that MUF is optimistic that the growth of electric vehicles in Indonesia will continue to increase, supported by improving infrastructure readiness, a wider range of vehicle choices in the market, and the availability of increasingly competitive and accessible financing schemes. This support is expected to accelerate the transition to low-emission vehicles and strengthen the national EV ecosystem.
