Mandiri Tunas Finance Debt Collector Allegedly Stabs Customer, OJK Summons Management
The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has stated that it has summoned PT Mandiri Tunas Finance (MTF) to request clarification regarding alleged acts of violence committed by debt collectors employed by the company.
Previously, a video circulated on Instagram via the @fakta.indo account, showing a commotion between debt collectors and the victim regarding the repossession of a vehicle.
“The OJK summoned the management of PT MTF today, Wednesday, to request clarification and a complete explanation regarding the chronology of the incident, the parties involved, and the follow-up steps that have been and will be taken by the company,” said the Head of the Financial Literacy, Inclusion, and Communication Department of the OJK, M Ismail Riyadi, in a statement in Jakarta, quoted on Thursday, February 26, 2026.
From the information obtained, Ismail said that the OJK is investigating the information provided by MTF by comparing it with the applicable regulations. If proven to have violated the applicable regulations, the OJK will impose strict sanctions on MTF in accordance with the regulations.
The OJK emphasized that the debt collection process by financial services institutions must be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the law, uphold ethics, and prioritize consumer protection. Acts of violence in any form cannot be justified.
The OJK appealed to all financial services institutions to ensure that debt collection activities, including those carried out through third parties, are carried out professionally, comply with applicable regulations, and do not use intimidating or violent methods.

As is known, the account explained that the victim was an advocate named Bastian Sori, SH. “Who is an administrator of the Regional Leadership Council of the Indonesian Advocates Congress (KAI) of the Banten Province, became a victim of being stabbed by people claiming to be debt collectors from Mandiri Tunas Finance,” the account wrote.
The account also wrote that the incident occurred at the victim’s residence in the Palem Semi Housing Complex, Karawaci, Tangerang, on Monday (February 23), which is under the jurisdiction of the South Tangerang Police. The incident began when three suspected perpetrators forced their way into the victim’s yard and attempted to repossess the victim’s car.
