Mandiri Taspen Partners with IPB University to Boost Financial Literacy and HR Development
PT Bank Mandiri Taspen has partnered with IPB University to strengthen financial literacy and human resources development. The commitment was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday.
Bank Mandiri Taspen President Director Panji Irawan explained that IPB University is a major educational institution with around 50,000 students, prompting the bank to focus on strengthening financial literacy and developing the skills of both students and teaching staff. “Bank Mandiri Taspen must collaborate to develop this ecosystem, and we also recognise that within IPB there are lecturers, civil servants, and other staff who require payroll services,” Panji Irawan said on Monday.
The bank will assist the IPB University academic community in optimising banking services, including providing liquidity management solutions, operational fund placement, and strengthening educational infrastructure through current account and deposit instruments. “Bank Mandiri Taspen is a bank specialising in senior citizen financing, particularly to help retirees who receive pensions from Taspen or Asabri,” he explained.
Furthermore, the bank will open internship opportunities for IPB University students through its Officer Development Program. “Internship programmes are very possible, as we have a branch in Bogor right in front of the campus, and we also have an ODP programme that regularly recruits prospective employees, so this can be collaborated on,” he stated.
He expressed hope that through this collaboration, Bank Mandiri Taspen can create a mutually supportive ecosystem between the education and banking sectors, whilst also fostering the development of competitive human resources ready to face global challenges. IPB University’s Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Cooperation, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Ir. Iskandar Z. Siregar, welcomed the synergy as a strategic step in strengthening the financial ecosystem within the campus environment.
