Mandiri Taspen and UGM Collaborate on Digitalisation and Financial Literacy
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Mandiri Taspen (Bank Mantap) has forged a strategic partnership with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to promote the digitalisation of services and strengthen financial literacy in the higher education setting. The President Director of Bank Mandiri Taspen, Panji Irawan, stated in Jakarta on Saturday that the collaboration, formalised through a memorandum of understanding signed on 10 April, forms part of the synergy between the banking sector and the world of education. According to him, the partnership aims to integrate modern financial services with the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, while producing outstanding talent ready to compete on a global level. He further emphasised that the collaboration is not merely symbolic but provides concrete solutions to support campus operations and the development of student competencies. The scope of the partnership includes the digitalisation of financial services, such as facilitating payments for Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) and Single Tuition Fees (UKT) via a Virtual Account system. In addition, both parties will promote improved financial literacy among the academic community. Beyond that, Bank Mandiri Taspen is opening opportunities for human resource development through internship programmes for UGM students, as well as scholarships for high-achieving students under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme. Furthermore, Bank Mandiri Taspen employees will have the opportunity to pursue further education at UGM up to the postgraduate level, as part of efforts to enhance human resource capacity. UGM Rector Ova Emilia welcomed the partnership positively, particularly in terms of improving the welfare of the academic community through financial education. βThe financial literacy programme focused on retirement preparation is important so that educators can enter their post-service period with solid financial readiness,β explained Ova.
