Mandala raises salary by 100%
JAKARTA: Local airline Mandala Airlines has increased the basic salary of its 1,345 employees by between 60 percent and 100 percent in a bid to improve their welfare.
The move was also in anticipation of the hikes in prices of basic commodities and the cost of living, resulting from the increases in gas and electricity.
The company's low-level employees will receive the highest increase of 100 percent, while those in managerial positions and above will get 60 percent salary increases.
With the increase, Mandala's employees were now the highest paid in the country's airline industry.
All employees will also continue to receive allowances for food, transportation and health insurance.
"With the airline industry on a more competitive level than ever before, and with current potential for further growth, our main strategy is to ensure that our employees receive the best salaries and benefit from our welfare system program," said director for general affairs Iswandi Anbas. -- JP
