Managing the PHTC Project: How Brantas Abipraya Ensures Construction Workers Meet SKKNI Standards
PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the capacity and competence of construction workers to ensure competitiveness in accordance with the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI). This move is intended to support the accelerated development of ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ (People’s Schools) as part of the government’s Quick Wins Programme (PHTC).
To this end, the company, in collaboration with the Regional Construction Services Office II Palembang of the Ministry of Public Works (PU), organised a Strategic Construction Worker Certification programme for levels 1–3 for the Lampung Province People’s School Construction Project for the 2026 fiscal year. The activity, conducted on-site on 21 May 2026, was attended by approximately 300 construction workers directly involved in this national strategic project.
Participants in the certification process represented various construction disciplines, including building construction foremen, construction supervisors, reinforced concrete workers, building painters, carpenters, light steel frame installers, and tilers.
Dian Sovana, Corporate Secretary of PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), stated that worker certification is a vital component in maintaining the quality of national educational infrastructure development. “Brantas Abipraya believes that the success of development is determined not only by the quality of materials and construction technology but also by the competence of the human resources involved on the ground. Therefore, we fully support this construction worker certification as part of our commitment to delivering high-quality, safe, and sustainable development,” Dian said in a statement on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
He added that the construction of ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ requires competent labour to ensure that project targets regarding quality, safety, and timeliness are optimally achieved. “The Sekolah Rakyat programme is a strategic project with a significant social impact on the community. Through this certification, we want to ensure that the workers on the front lines of development possess competencies that meet national standards and are capable of delivering the best results.”
The certification activity was conducted on-site at the project location to ensure the assessment process was effective without disrupting the progress of construction work on the ground. The Acting Director General of Construction Development at the Ministry of Public Works, Indro Pantja Pramodo, emphasised that the construction sector plays a strategic role in national economic growth.
