Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Integrated Pulo Gebang Terminal Management Unit, Christianto, revealed that the average number of buses passing through and departing from the terminal during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri/2026 homecoming flow reached 490 units per day. He explained that this average is based on data from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub), from H-7 or 13 March until 19 March at 17:00 WIB. “Meanwhile, for the number of drivers, it is simply multiplied by two, namely nearly 1,000 people, because each bus has at least two drivers,” Christianto said when interviewed by ANTARA in the departure waiting room of the TTPG on Thursday afternoon. He further explained that not all buses depart from the beginning at Pulo Gebang Terminal, so some are counted as passing through to pick up prospective homecomers. Christianto added that his side has carried out various preparations to face this year’s Lebaran transportation, through strengthening coordination with a number of stakeholders, such as the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Health, and others. Health checks and driver readiness are carried out consistently, he said, assisted by medical personnel from the Health Sub-District Office (Sudinkes) of the East Jakarta Administrative City. All these steps are important to ensure the safety and smoothness of the homecoming and return flow later, including anticipating conditions of drivers who experience fatigue or health disturbances. The Integrated Pulo Gebang Terminal in East Jakarta is one of the largest bus terminals in Jakarta. The public transportation facility is managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub).
