Management Revitalisation Strengthens Organisational Consolidation at AMPI
The Central Executive Board (DPP) of Angkatan Muda Pembaharuan Indonesia (AMPI) has once again carried out a revitalisation, or restructuring, of its organisational leadership.
The step was decided at the DPP AMPI’s Ninth Plenary Meeting, held at the DPP AMPI secretariat in Jakarta on Thursday (23 July 2026), under the leadership of DPP AMPI General Chairman Jerry Sambuaga.
Arman Saputra, the DPP AMPI’s Chairman for Organisation, regarded the leadership restructuring as an appropriate form of organisational strengthening at the present time. According to him, the restructuring undertaken by the General Chairman is also intended to ensure the organisation’s machinery runs better going forward.
At the Ninth Plenary Meeting, a number of strategic decisions were taken, ranging from refreshing structures across various working divisions to personnel adjustments in key leadership positions. The process was described as part of the organisation’s regular evaluation to ensure the leadership continues to function effectively through to the end of the 2022–2027 term.
Arman, who also served as Chairman of the Socio-Political Division of the PB HMI from 2013 to 2015, stressed that such leadership restructuring is a normal matter and forms part of the General Chairman’s duties and authority in maintaining organisational solidarity.
He added that the revitalisation of the leadership aims not merely to refresh the structure, but also to strengthen internal coordination and improve the effectiveness of implementing the organisation’s work programmes.
“As the organisation’s highest leader, the General Chairman has full authority to determine the direction and composition of the leadership, including evaluating the performance of officials across the various working divisions,” Arman said in Jakarta on Saturday (25 July 2026).
This authority, Arman continued, is inherent in the position of General Chairman as part of the mandate given through the organisation’s highest deliberative forum, and is commonly referred to as the prerogative right held by the top leadership of any youth or political party organisation.
In this context, Arman saw the General Chairman carrying out his role as a leader who directly chaired the Ninth Plenary Meeting, while also being the party who determined the final decisions on the outcomes of the officials’ deliberations.
“That prerogative right places the General Chairman not merely as a symbol of the organisation, but as the legitimate decision-maker on internal dynamics, including matters of replacement and arrangement of leadership personnel,” he explained.
Arman also conveyed that the exercise of this prerogative right is in line with the organisation’s need to continually adapt to internal and external dynamics, and is not a decision taken unilaterally, but one that still goes through the mechanism of the organisation’s highest deliberative forum.
The revitalisation step was also affirmed as part of the organisation’s mechanism running in accordance with AMPI’s internal corridors. The Ninth Plenary Meeting served as the official forum providing legitimacy to all decisions taken, so that the leadership restructuring rests on a strong organisational basis.
According to Arman, the leadership restructuring currently undertaken is an important moment for AMPI to strengthen internal consolidation, especially ahead of the organisation’s upcoming agenda.
He said the process of evaluating and strengthening the structure is a normal part of the dynamics of a continually developing youth organisation.
He added that the restructuring step was carried out so that the organisation’s machinery runs well. “Structural arrangement is an important part of ensuring every working division is filled by cadres suited to their capacities and responsibilities, while also strengthening AMPI’s solidarity in the face of the organisation’s future challenges,” he said.
“This revitalisation of the leadership also signals that the General Chairman’s leadership remains the primary reference in every strategic organisational decision, while demonstrating that the process of regeneration and structural renewal proceeds in accordance with the mechanisms applicable within AMPI,” he concluded.
