Management Clarifies Pre-Wedding Fireworks Were Outside Prambanan Temple Complex

The management of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko, which operates Prambanan Temple, has addressed the viral fireworks display in the temple area, allegedly part of a pre-wedding event for President Prabowo Subianto’s private secretary, Rizky Irmansyah. Residents on social media highlighted the loud explosions of the fireworks near the historic temple complex on Wednesday evening, 24 June 2026, at around 9 p.m. local time. General Manager of Prambanan and Ratu Boko, Leonardus Adityo Nugroho, stated on Saturday, 27 June 2026, that the fireworks were not set off within the operational area of Prambanan Temple or Zone 2. Adityo explained that the fireworks were ignited outside the Prambanan Temple area, specifically in the RT 25 area of Tlogo Village, Prambanan, Klaten. Based on information received, the activity had been coordinated with local village residents and had obtained permits from the relevant authorities. PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko has coordinated with all stakeholders to maintain the safety and comfort of visitors, the surrounding community, and the preservation of the cultural heritage area. When asked whether the event was indeed organised by President Prabowo’s private secretary, Adityo declined to disclose details, citing client privacy. He reiterated that the main area of Prambanan Temple remains safe and conducive, as it was not affected by the event. The Head of Tlogo Village, Prambanan, Raksono, stated that according to information received, the fireworks display was indeed from the pre-wedding event of President Prabowo Subianto’s private secretary, Rizky Irmansyah. He noted that the event had permits, but he was surprised by the large fireworks display, which lasted about two minutes. The event location was outside the Prambanan Temple complex, precisely on the south side of Mandala Wisata, east of Jalan Candi Sewu. The fireworks display in the Prambanan Temple area had previously drawn the attention of netizens, who considered it disruptive and highlighted the loud explosions.
