Manado bureaucracy to be streamlined
MANADO, North Sulawesi: At least 796 officials at the North
Sulawesi provincial administration will lose their positions by
February 2005, when Government Decree No. 8/2003 takes effect.
The decree deals with the streamlining of the bureaucracy at
various levels of government, including the provincial level.
D.J. Palar, head of the law and staff information section at
the administration, said the government would offer those
bureaucrats made redundant early retirement or a move to
nonstructural positions. -- JP
