Man swallows dentures after headache

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: A man was in critical condition
on Monday after unintentionally swallowing his false teeth along
with medicine to get rid of an excruciating headache.

The 45-year-old man, who was not identified, nearly choked on
a set of his three false teeth and was rushed to hospital in
Banjarmasin, the capital city of South Kalimantan.

The man was in such a hurry to cure a headache that he gulped
down his false teeth while trying to swallow medicine bought from
a local stall.

His family found him gasping on the floor and rushed him to
the general Ulin hospital.

Doctors immediately performed surgery to extricate the false
teeth stuck midway down his throat.

"If immediate help had not been given to the victim, the
accident could have led to his death," a doctor said. --Antara
