Man Suspected of Murdering Girlfriend in East Java Pretended to Seek Help

A man with the initials RA (18) is suspected of murdering his girlfriend, MTA (2pend2), in Lumajang, East Java, and has been apprehended by police officers.

Initially, the perpetrator claimed to be confused when he was unable to contact his girlfriend and requested the victim’s neighbours to check on her condition.

“The neighbour was the one who found her; they said they received a call from the victim’s boyfriend asking to check on her because she could not be reached via phone. Upon checking, she was found deceased, lying naked in her room,” said the victim’s family member, Diana, as reported by detikJatim on Sunday (5/7).

Police conducting further investigations discovered irregularities in the case. Suspecting foul play, officers eventually arrested RA at his residence.

According to the Head of Criminal Investigation at Lumajang Police, AKP Ari Aulia, the perpetrator, RA, was the victim’s boyfriend.

Police explained that the perpetrator used a blunt object and clothing to carry out the killing.

“The victim was struck with wood by the perpetrator, her mouth was gagged, and her neck was strangled with her own denim trousers,” said AKP Ari.

The perpetrator admitted that after the victim had died, he intentionally stripped her of all her clothing, allegedly to engineer the situation to appear as though a rape had been committed by an unknown person.

The perpetrator is now facing charges under Article 458 of the Criminal Code regarding murder, with a potential prison sentence of up to 15 years.

The body of MTA was first discovered on Saturday (4/7) night, lying face up, naked, and covered in blood on her bed.
