Man stabs relative to death

JAKARTA (JP): Teenager Zuklifki, 19, stabbed his sister-in-law to death in Ragunan Zoo, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Wednesday afternoon, over her alleged impoliteness to his mother.

Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Anton Bachrul Alam said that Zulkifli, a resident of Jati Padang, South Jakarta, became enraged because he felt his sister-in-law, Suhenah, 21, also a resident of Jati Padang, had been very disrespectful to his mother.

"Zulkifli duped her into trusting him and brought her to Ragunan zoo with him. He then took her to a secluded place and stabbed her twice as a result of which she died," Anton said.

He added that Pasar Minggu police were still interrogating the suspect over the murder.

In an unrelated development, angry residents of Rawa Bedeng village, Pulo Gebang, East Jakarta, mobbed a man on Tuesday night when he was caught stealing an amplifier from the Nurul Nahjat mosque in the village.

The man, whom police identified as Ricky Andreas, 24, died in the Kramat Jati National Police Hospital early on Wednesday morning. (ylt)
