Man stabbed in East Jakarta goes viral as two suspects arrested within 24 hours

“Less than 24 hours after the incident, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pasar Rebo Police Sector said it had arrested the perpetrators of the assault in Setu Pedongkelan,” said Pasar Rebo Police Chief, Kompol I Wayan Wijaya, on Thursday (21 May 2026).

“The assault occurred in the Setu Pedongkelan area along Jalan Telaga RT 13 RW 09, Pekayon, Pasar Rebo District, Jakarta Timur (East Jakarta), on Tuesday (19 May) at around 04:30 WIB. The victim is currently being treated at RS Polri.”

“The perpetrators hacked with a bladed weapon that caused the victim named FK to require treatment at RS Polri Kramat Jati,” he said.

“The two perpetrators arrested carry the initials NEBY and DSTW. They were arrested separately.”

“He said the perpetrator with initials NEBY was arrested at his home in Kampung Arman on the same day, Tuesday (19 May), around 23:42 WIB. Meanwhile, the perpetrator with initials DSTW was arrested while on his way home from work in Setu Pedongkelan on Wednesday (20 May), around 01:30 WIB.”

“Both suspects are currently at Pasar Rebo Police Station to be questioned and held accountable for their actions. There is no information yet regarding the motive for the stabbing of the victim.”

“Tomorrow they will be released at the police station, yes,” he said. (jbr/mei)
