Man stabbed in daylight robbery

BOGOR (JP): A 45-year-old man identified as Inggit Sulaeman, a resident of Gang Salim in Ciwaringin, Central Bogor, was stabbed in the abdomen by a group of robbers who stole Rp 12 million in cash, police said Monday.

Inggit was found by locals bleeding on a tract of open land in Gang Batu near Kebon Kembang Market, Central Bogor Police Sgt Maj. Gatot said.

"At first the locals were afraid to help him because they saw him bleeding with a knife in his hand. Later it was found out that he had the knife for protection and that the robbers stabbed him during the fight," Gatot said.

Inggit was taken to PMI Hospital.

He was on his way to deposit the money in a branch of Bank Bali when he was attacked, Gatot added.

Inggit's wife, Lalan, said her husband always walked alone to the bank, which is located about eight kilometers from their house. (21/edt)
