Man rapes, impregnates daughter

TANGERANG: Jatiuwung subprecinct police arrested a 53-year-old man for allegedly repeatedly raping his daughter. The 17-year old girl is now five month pregnant.

The resident of Sangiang Mas housing complex, Periuk district, admitted he had the urge to have sex with his daughter the day his second wife was out of town in April this year.

The girl is from the man's first wife. The couple are divorced.

The victim said her father threatened to spray caustic soda over her face if she refused to have sex with him.

"I was scared because nobody else was at home and my father would not be hesitate to hurt me if I said no," she said.

Suspicious neighbors on Sunday confronted the father, asking him who made the unmarried daughter pregnant. Not satisfied with the reply, the neighbors contacted police.

Tangerang police detective deputy chief Insp. Kustanto said the father would be charged with rape, which carries a maximum punishment of 12 years in jail. -- JP
