Police have uncovered the actions of Ahmad Ronny Hasiholan (44) following the murder of his unregistered wife, DH (56), whose skeletal remains were discovered in Meruyung, Limo, Depok, West Java. Police stated that the perpetrator posed as a victim.

“Why was there no suspicion? Because for some time after the murder occurred, the victim’s mobile phone was controlled by the suspect, and the suspect communicated with people connected to the victim as if he himself were the victim,” said the Head of Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters (Polda Metro Jaya), Brigadier General Iman Imannudin, to journalists on Wednesday (11/3/2026).

Officials stated that the perpetrator did this to prevent the victim’s relatives from becoming suspicious after the murder. The murder occurred in mid-October 2025, whilst the remains were discovered several months later, specifically on Saturday (7/3).

“So the victim’s close relatives would not become suspicious,” he added.

Police revealed Ahmad Ronny’s motive for murdering his unregistered wife until her skeletal remains were discovered. It is known that their marriage occurred in December 2024. The suspect claimed he killed the victim out of hurt feelings.

“The suspect, known to be unemployed, felt hurt after being evicted from the house by the victim. He then committed murder,” said the Head of Public Relations at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Budi Hermanto, to journalists on Monday (9/3).

Police revealed that the perpetrator’s motive for killing the victim was economic issues. “The provisional motive is suspected to be based on economic problems,” he added.

Perpetrator Ahmad Ronny Hasiholan (44) was arrested by a combined team from the Robbery and Mobile Brigade subdivision of Metro Jaya Police Headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Directorate on Sunday (8/3) on Jalan Cipete Raya Jatimulya, Tambun Selatan, Bekasi Regency. Ronny has since been designated as a suspect and is being held at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters detention centre.
