Man Loses Motorcycle to Sabu in Dating Trap Scheme in West Jakarta
A man identified by the initials RR became a victim of assault and fraud after being trapped by a dating scheme in Kalideres, West Jakarta. The victim not only lost his motorcycle but also other valuable belongings. The case came to light following a report filed by the victim on Tuesday (26/5) regarding the violent theft he experienced. The chronology began when the victim became acquainted with a woman, identified as GF, on 17 May 2026. After establishing communication, the victim was invited to meet and was taken to a rented room in the Puri Garden area, Kalideres, West Jakarta. However, upon arriving at the room, GF contacted two male associates, identified as F and DC. Shortly after, the two men arrived and committed violence against the victim. After a lengthy investigation, police arrested DC, alias Pedaw, the mastermind of the fraud, at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport cargo terminal where he worked. Kanit Reskrim Polsek Kalideres, AKP Rachmad Wibowo, stated that Pedaw was the main perpetrator who assaulted the victim and seized his motorcycle. Pedaw has been named a suspect and detained under Article 479 of the Criminal Code. The arrest was a development of the case reported on Tuesday (26/5). Kapolsek Kalideres, Kompol Rihold Sihotang, explained that after the victim was in the rented room, two other perpetrators arrived, committed assault, and took the victim’s motorcycle key and mobile phone. After seizing the items, the perpetrators handed the vehicle key to GF, who then fled with the victim’s motorcycle. Following the report, the Kalideres Criminal Investigation Unit conducted an investigation. Based on CCTV footage from the location, police identified the whereabouts of GF. The investigation led officers to a location in Pegadungan, Kalideres, where GF was secured on 26 May 2026 at a suspected base camp for the group. Police revealed that Pedaw exchanged the victim’s motorcycle for two grams of crystal methamphetamine and Rp 500,000 in cash at Kampung Ambon.
