Man Kills Mother in Pamulang, Tangerang Selatan, Suspected of Seizing Inheritance Property

Tangerang Selatan — A man identified as I (36) killed his mother, K (64), at their home in Kedaung, Pamulang, Tangerang Selatan on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. AKP Galuh Febri Saputra, Pamulang police chief, stated that the suspect allegedly carried out severe assault on the victim with the intent to seize the inherited property, a house occupied by both the victim and the suspect. He made the comment when questioned by Kompas.com via WhatsApp on Monday, 25 May 2026. After receiving the report, police proceeded to the scene and found the victim deceased. ‘The victim had been washed and was due to be buried shortly, but unusual injuries were found,’ he said. Police then conducted a crime scene investigation and interviewed several witnesses in the vicinity. Initial examinations revealed injuries to the victim’s head and body, believed to be from violence. ‘The victim’s injuries were strongly suspected to be the result of assault,’ he added. The victim lived with the suspect, her biological son, on a daily basis. During initial questioning, the suspect denied assaulting his mother. However, his statement was inconsistent with police findings and witness testimonies, prompting deeper interrogation. In his second statement, the suspect eventually admitted to the crime. He confessed to planning the murder a week prior.
