Man Killed in Mob Attack at West Jakarta Billiard Hall; Brother Questions Security Systems

The family of Diko Milandika (28), a young man who died after being mobbed at a billiard hall in Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta, is urging the management to provide an explanation. The victim’s elder sister, Mita, expressed regret over the minimal security systems at the venue, which allowed an incident involving dozens of people to occur and ultimately lead to her brother’s death.

She has requested good faith from the billiard hall’s management to meet the family directly and provide a clarification. Mita questioned how a disturbance involving approximately 15 people could take place within the billiard area without being intercepted by local security officers. She noted that from the tragic incident in the early hours of Sunday (10/05/2026) until her brother’s passing on Thursday (14/05/2026), the management has yet to issue an official statement or provide their version of the chronology directly to the family. For Mita, a direct explanation from the management is crucial to uncovering the truth behind the mob attack.

Following the attack on Diko, Mita confirmed that a report had been filed with the Grogol Petamburan Police on Sunday afternoon. She is demanding that all perpetrators be prosecuted strictly in accordance with the law. It is reported that the initial altercation was triggered by a woman who felt offended by the way Diko’s partner was being stared at. The woman allegedly punched Diko’s partner, prompting Diko to challenge her actions, which subsequently led to the mob attack by the woman’s group.
