Man killed after starting new job

TANGERANG (JP): A man who recently switched to working as a motorcyle taxi driver after losing his job was found stabbed to death early yesterday morning in Sentul subdistrict.

Dimyati, a father of two who lived in Bunar subdistrict in Balaraja, was found by local residents with several stab wounds to his back at 3 a.m., 25 kilometers away from his operation base, according to Jaro, one of Dimyati's fellow drivers.

Jaro, who rushed to the site after hearing about the 25-year- old's death, said he last saw Dimyati at about midnight as he left with two people.

"I saw him transporting the two passengers, but I did not know where they were going," he said.

Tangerang police, who sent the body to the Tangerang General Hospital for a post mortem, are still investigating the killing, Jaro said.

He added that Dimyati became a driver several weeks ago to earn a living to support his family. (41/hhr)
