A man with the initials KL (46) has been arrested for stabbing a 14-year-old boy to death in South Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands. The suspect allegedly killed the victim, identified by the initials RS, because he felt offended. The incident occurred in Sungai Gusung Hamlet, Rias Village, Toboali District, on Wednesday (22/7) at around 12:00 WIB. The victim died after being taken to hospital with severe stab wounds to the chest and thigh. ‘The initial motive is that the perpetrator felt offended by the victim. We are still investigating this motive further,’ said South Bangka Police Chief AKBP Trihanto Nugroho on Thursday (23/7/2026). Following the incident, the victim’s family immediately filed a police report. The Criminal Investigation Unit’s Mobile Response Team of the South Bangka Police swiftly pursued the perpetrator, who had fled into an oil palm plantation. ‘After committing the act, the perpetrator fled towards the oil palm plantation and disposed of the knife he used. He was arrested at around 14:00 WIB,’ he confirmed.
