SOUTH TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - A man wearing a jacket inscribed with “police”, Andriano Michael, is suspected of forcibly taking a motorbike key from a rider and demanding vehicle documents in Perigi Baru, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang (Tangsel).

Regarding the incident, Andriano explained that he only intended to reprimand the motorbike rider for not using a number plate and for using a noisy exhaust in the area of a minimarket.

However, the reprimand escalated into a debate with several riders, including online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers.

The debate heated up until Andriano eventually chose to leave the location, unaware that he was being recorded.

“I did not realise I was being recorded by them,” he said.

Regarding the jacket inscribed with “police” that he was wearing, Andriano admitted to buying it online.

“I bought that jacket online because of my love for the Polri,” he said.

After the video circulated, Andriano claimed to have visited the Pondok Aren Police Sector to provide clarification and express an apology.

“I apologise to the Polri institution and all parties harmed. I promise not to repeat it,” he said.

He also reminded the public not to use police attributes without authority.

“I urge the public not to use attributes if they are not members of the Polri,” he said.

Previously reported, a man suspected to be a debt collector wearing a jacket inscribed with “police” argued with online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers in Perigi Baru, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang (Tangsel).

The action occurred on Sunday (5/4/2026) and went viral on social media after being uploaded by the Instagram account @tangsel.life.
