Man in North Jakarta Slashed and Injured in Parking Space Dispute
A man with the initials AH (49) became the victim of a slashing at a coffee shop on Jalan Bugis, Kebon Bawang Urban Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta. The perpetrator has now been arrested.
“The perpetrator, with the initials A, was found to have slashed the victim, AH (49), a resident of Jalan Swadaya, Kebon Bawang, Tanjung Priok. The incident occurred on Thursday (27/8) at 02.00 WIB,” said Tanjung Priok Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Handam Samudro, as quoted by Antara on Friday (28/8/2026).
The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday (27/8). He said the perpetrator was arrested at the scene by the Quick Reaction Unit (URC) of the Tanjung Priok Police Criminal Investigation Unit. Based on the investigation, the slashing was triggered by a dispute over parking space at the location.
“The motive for the assault was a dispute over parking space at Kopi Kenangan, Jalan Bugis, Kebon Bawang,” said Handam.
The arrest of the perpetrator began with a report from the public to the Tanjung Priok Police Criminal Investigation URC team. The team then moved to the crime scene to conduct checks.
At the scene, officers found the victim with wounds from a sharp object on his waist and palm. Upon seeing members of the Tanjung Priok Police, the perpetrator attempted to flee but was apprehended by police officers.
“The perpetrator and evidence have been taken to the Tanjung Priok Police for further investigation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the victim AH, who was injured, was immediately taken to the nearest hospital and directed to file a police report.
