Man in Lampung Shot Multiple Times While Attempting to Collect Rp 20 Million Debt

A man named Mersiyanto (49) was shot three times by a perpetrator named Adi while attempting to collect a debt of Rp 20 million in Mesuji Regency, Lampung. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his body.

According to reports from Thursday (3/9/2026), the incident occurred in Sungai Sidang Village, North Rawajitu District, Mesuji Regency, Lampung, on Tuesday (1/9) at approximately 16:00 WIB. An altercation reportedly took place before the shooting occurred.

“It is suspected that the disturbance was caused by Adi bin Kusir owing a debt of Rp 20 million to Mersiyanto,” stated Mesuji Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Firdaus.

The victim was initially taken to Ratutara Hospital in Sidang Bandar Anom Village. After receiving initial treatment, he was referred to the Ragab Begawe Caram Regional Hospital in Mesuji.

“Examination results show the victim suffered three gunshot wounds. The wounds are located on the right elbow, right forearm, and right chest,” he explained.

The victim also experienced active bleeding, shortness of breath, and pain. Police have conducted a crime scene investigation and secured several pieces of evidence. Meanwhile, Adi bin Kusir, the suspected perpetrator, is still being pursued by the police.
