Police have revealed that the confinement and assault of a woman, identified by the initials TS, by her boyfriend Horas Samuel Lumban T (HSLT) lasted for six days. The victim was held captive in a boarding house in the Cikarang area, West Java. “The confinement lasted approximately six days, as I have already explained. Approximately six days,” said Plh Kapolres Metro Bekasi Kombes Ikhlas Putro Wasono during a press conference at his office on Tuesday (21/7/2026). Samuel and the victim had been in a relationship since April 2025 and eventually decided to live together. During their relationship, the couple frequently argued. Ikhlas stated that on 29 June 2026, the pair argued again. The assault and confinement of his girlfriend by Samuel then occurred from 2 July to 8 July 2026. “The abuse began on 2 July 2026 and lasted until 8 July 2026, after the perpetrator learned from the victim’s travel history that she had been out with another man,” Ikhlas explained. According to Ikhlas, during the confinement, the victim endured a series of assaults by the perpetrator Samuel. The victim was repeatedly punched and dragged. “The perpetrator assaulted the victim by slapping her, dragging her, and repeatedly punching her in the face. When she was being assaulted, the victim tried to cover her face with both hands, resulting in bruising,” he said. The victim sustained bruises to her face and arms. Ikhlas said the victim managed to escape the confinement by fleeing through a window when the perpetrator was not at the location. The actions of the perpetrator Samuel are reminiscent of those carried out by Taufik Hidayat, who confined and assaulted his girlfriend in Bandung. This ‘Taufik Hidayat’ of Cikarang has now been named a suspect and faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison. “Article 466, paragraph 1 states that any person who commits assault shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of two years and six months or a maximum fine of Rp 50 million,” said Ikhlas. “Article 466, paragraph 2 states that if the act referred to in paragraph 1 results in serious injury, the perpetrator shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of five years. Finally, Article 466, paragraph 3 states that if the act results in death, the perpetrator shall be punished with imprisonment for a maximum of seven years,” he added.
