Man in Bogor Named Suspect for Molesting Two Stepchildren, Faces 15 Years in Prison
Police have officially named a man with the initials S (47) as a suspect in the molestation of his two stepchildren in the Cibinong District, Bogor, West Java. The perpetrator is currently in custody.
“He has been named a suspect and detained,” stated the Head of PPA and PPO of the Bogor Police, AKP Silfi Adi Putri, on Friday (4/9/2026).
Investigators are charging the suspect under the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) and Law Number 1 of 2026. The suspect faces a potential 15-year prison sentence.
“Due to his heinous acts, Suspect S is being charged with heavy penalties as regulated under Article 473 paragraph 9 and/or Article 418 paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 2023 regarding the KUHP in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026,” she explained.
Previously, police arrested the man, S (47), for allegedly molesting his two stepchildren in Bogor, West Java. Police have revealed the perpetrator’s modus operandi.
“The perpetrator, S, had also previously committed (molestation) against the eldest child, who is now older, but it was not reported. The incident recurred with the second child, which led to the report. The eldest is 10 years old, and the younger is 8 years old,” said the Head of PPA and PPO of the Bogor Police, AKP Silfi Adi Putri, on Thursday (3/9).
Silfi noted that the perpetrator, S, committed the molestation on more than one occasion against his stepchildren. S is said to have carried out the acts solely to satisfy his lust.
“The suspect’s modus operandi was to satisfy his lust towards the victims, who were essentially under his supervision and care,” Silfi said.
Silfi mentioned that the authorities are currently completing the investigation process so that the case file can be promptly submitted to the prosecutor’s office. The victims have undergone medical examinations (visum) to strengthen the evidence for the report.
“We have referred the children for a visum et repertum, as well as direct assistance from a forensic psychologist,” Silfi added.
