A man has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a 12-year-old boy in Ciampea District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The suspect is currently in police custody.

‘The individual has been detained, but as it is still within the initial 24-hour examination period, we have not yet determined his status,’ said AKP Silfi Adi Putri, Head of the PPA/PPO Unit at Bogor Police, on Thursday (25/6/2026).

She stated that the case remains under investigation, with officers still examining witnesses. ‘Yes, we are currently processing this and are still questioning witnesses,’ she explained.

Entin Martini, a victim’s advocate, said the suspect frequently enticed the victim with the offer of borrowing a mobile phone. The victim was then taken to the suspect’s place of business. ‘The abuse occurred there. It is alleged, or rather, it is no longer just an allegation as the evidence is already available. The abuse involved a male against another male,’ Entin revealed.

She added that the suspect even recorded his depraved acts. The suspect subsequently sent a message to the victim, which was seen by the victim’s parents. ‘The victim had been visiting the suspect’s business premises, but after a two-week absence, the suspect chatted with the victim. The message was received by the parents,’ she said. ‘He asked why the child was no longer visiting ’the uncle’s’ place—he referred to himself as ‘uncle’. He then sent those videos. When the parents saw them, they were shocked.’
