Man in Bogor Allegedly Abuses Boy Using Mobile Phone Loan as Modus Operandi
A man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy in Ciampea District, Bogor, West Java. The perpetrator allegedly used the modus operandi of lending the victim a mobile phone.
‘The scenario is that an adult man enticed the child by lending him a mobile phone and then took him to his place of business. That is where the abuse occurred,’ said victim support worker Entin Martini on Thursday (25/6/2026).
She stated that the perpetrator also recorded his depraved act and subsequently sent the recording to the victim’s parents. Entin noted that the victim had never spoken about the incident, and the crime was only uncovered after the recording was sent to the parents.
‘He did not tell anyone anything at all. It was only uncovered because of the chat from the perpetrator,’ she said.
The man has been taken into police custody and is currently undergoing questioning. ‘The individual has been secured, but as it is still within the initial 24-hour examination period, we have not yet determined his status,’ said Bogor Police Women and Children Services Unit Head AKP Silfi Adi Putri.
