A man with the initials RBP has been reported to the Bekasi City Metropolitan Police (Polres Metro Bekasi Kota) after allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Islamic boarding school (pesantren) student on multiple occasions.

The victim’s legal counsel, Advocate Mohammad, said the case came to light when boarding school administrators grew suspicious of the victim’s behaviour. The victim subsequently disclosed the perpetrator’s actions.

“It was discovered when the boarding school staff became suspicious of the victim’s behaviour. The school then confiscated the mobile phone and found messages from the perpetrator expressing affection towards the victim,” Mohammad said on Monday (23/2/2026).

The case has been widely discussed on social media. The alleged perpetrator is not a member of the boarding school staff. The case was reported to Bekasi City Metropolitan Police on Wednesday (11/2) under police report number LP/B/506/II/2026/SPKT/POLRES METRO BEKASI KOTA/POLDA METRO JAYA.

RBP resides near the boarding school located in Bekasi City. The perpetrator and victim met by chance in front of the tahfiz (Quran memorisation) house.

“The perpetrator met the victim by chance when the victim was playing in front of the tahfiz house. It started with the perpetrator giving the victim pocket money, then taking the victim to a shopping mall to buy clothes and food. Subsequently, the rape occurred in the mall car park,” Mohammad said.

In front of the boarding school administrators, RBP posed as a donor and even claimed to be a soldier. He frequently posted photographs of himself wearing military camouflage uniform with Reserve Component (Komcad) insignia. This method was used by the perpetrator to get close to the students.

“The perpetrator presented himself to the school administrators as a member of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and as a donor, so he could get closer to the students — that was his modus operandi. As for his claims, he said he was a Reserve Component member but had been dismissed,” Mohammad said.

In this case, RBP allegedly committed sexual violence against the victim multiple times over a three-month period, consistently carrying out the assaults in the car park of a shopping mall on Jalan Alternatif Cibubur, Bekasi City.

“The incidents occurred ten times, all in the mall car park, from October to December 2025,” he said.

The perpetrator repeatedly committed these acts as the victim was frightened and psychologically manipulated through gifts of goods and money. These tactics were employed against the victim, who is fatherless.

“Firstly, the victim was afraid because the perpetrator claimed to be a TNI member. The perpetrator positioned himself as a father figure, which is why he gave the victim a mobile phone, bought clothes, took the victim to upscale restaurants, and then committed the rape — that was the modus operandi,” he explained.

The victim was summoned for further questioning at Bekasi City Metropolitan Police on Monday. Police are still pursuing the suspect, who is believed to have fled.

“We are currently at the police station, and the victim is being asked to provide further testimony. The perpetrator is still at large,” he said.

When contacted separately for confirmation, Head of Public Relations at Bekasi City Metropolitan Police, AKP Suparyono, said he would check on the latest progress of the case.

“Let me enquire about the progress,” Suparyono said.
