Man Held at Gunpoint by Armed Robbers in East Jakarta, Motorcycle Stolen

A gang of robbers seized a motorcycle belonging to a resident on Jalan Pulogadung II, Cakung, East Jakarta. During the incident, the perpetrators pointed an airsoft gun at the victim.

The incident occurred at 1.15 a.m. Western Indonesia Time on Wednesday (26/8/2026). It began when the victim, identified by the initials PA (22), was stopped at the roadside waiting for a chicken seller.

At the time, the victim was sitting on a motorcycle belonging to his employer. He had been asked by his employer to come to the location to collect a chicken order.

“Suddenly two perpetrators arrived from the right side, riding pillion on one motorcycle,” said Cakung Police Chief Commissioner Andre Try Putra in his statement on Wednesday (26/8).

One of the perpetrators then got off and showed an airsoft gun to the victim. The perpetrator then threatened the victim to hand over the keys and the motorcycle.

“Because the victim was frightened, he immediately pulled out the ignition key that was still attached and moved away to save himself,” he said.

The case was subsequently reported to Cakung Police. The Cakung Police Criminal Investigation Unit then conducted an investigation and moved quickly to arrest the perpetrators.

“Three perpetrators were arrested while sleeping at their rented house on Jalan Tiar, Rawa Badak Selatan, Koja, North Jakarta, at 8.30 a.m. Western Indonesia Time this morning,” he concluded.
