Man Goes on Rampage, Assaulting Driver Following Car Horn Incident
A video depicting a car driver losing his temper and assaulting another motorist has gone viral on social media. The victim was allegedly beaten because of the use of a car horn.
The altercation, which resulted in physical violence, was captured on camera and circulated widely online. The footage shows a driver involved in a dispute with a man on the side of a highway. The perpetrator appeared to go on a rampage, shouting insults at the driver, who remained seated in the vehicle.
In the viral video, the man outside the car continued to scream and even threatened to shoot the driver. The recording ends with the driver leaving the assailant behind to continue his journey.
According to reports, the dispute between the two motorists occurred on the Cibubur-Cileungsi Alternative Road, Gunungputri, Bogor Regency, on Sunday (17/5) at 00:33 WIB. The Chief of Gunung Putri Police, Kompol Aulia Robby Kartika Putra, confirmed the incident.
Robby stated that the victim has filed a police report and the authorities are currently investigating the case. “Yes, it has been reported. The perpetrator is still being investigated,” Robby said when asked for confirmation on Monday (18/5/2026).
Robby noted that the perpetrator exited his vehicle and immediately assaulted the victim. The perpetrator also allegedly caused damage to the victim’s car.
“The complainant observed the perpetrator exiting his vehicle alone and immediately committing assault and vandalism. The perpetrator struck the complainant with a clenched right fist twice, forcefully hitting the complainant’s lips. Subsequently, the perpetrator struck the complainant’s right jaw twice,” Robby explained.
“Furthermore, the perpetrator damaged the complainant’s vehicle by hitting the right side mirror three times, breaking the front right wiper, kicking the front right door once, and kicking the rear bumper once,” he added.
The incident was triggered by the use of a car horn. The victim reportedly honked the horn after being startled when the perpetrator’s vehicle suddenly emerged from an alleyway.
“The reported vehicle exited Jl Masjid At Taqwa towards the Cibubur Alternative Road, immediately taking the middle lane, which startled the complainant, leading to a single long blast of the horn,” Robby explained.
