Man gets 3 years for killing

JAKARTA (JP): The North Jakarta District Court has sentenced
Romli, alias Lili, to three years imprisonment for stabbing
Sujoko to death.

Judge Judo Sumarto said in the verdict that on Sept. 27, 1992,
Sujoko, who had extorted money from Lili several times,
threatened to kill the defendant for refusing to give him money,
Antara reported.

On the next day the defendant retaliated by stabbing the
victim in the abdomen, buttocks and arms. Sujoko was treated at
Sumber Waras hospital in Grogol, West Jakarta. He died eight days
after the stabbing.

The sentence fulfilled prosecutor Joko Widodo's demands. (hhr)
