I Made Yuda, a resident of Banjar Tangkas, Kenderan Village, Tegallalang District, Gianyar, was found weak and lying near the Petanu River at the bottom of a ravine. Yuda had been reported missing since Friday (15 May 2026).

“A resident of Banjar Tangkas, named Made Yuda, was found in the river at the bottom of the ravine, at 11:00 am local time. The victim is a resident who was reported missing by his family,” said Head of Public Relations of the Gianyar Police, Ipda Gusti Ngurah Suardita, in a statement on Saturday (16 May 2026).

Suardita said that on Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm, Yuda said goodbye to his grandson. He intended to go to an empty plot of land near his house to look for materials for a religious ceremony.

After leaving in the afternoon, Yuda did not return until 7:00 pm. The family became worried and reported his disappearance to the police.

“Personnel from the Tegallalang Police and the Gianyar Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) carried out a search until early morning,” said Suardita.

The search continued until early Saturday morning, at 2:00 am. However, the results were negative. At 10:00 am, officers found Yuda’s sandals and knife near the edge of the ravine.

After searching, Yuda was finally found lying weak near the river at the bottom of the ravine. Assistance and evacuation began at 11:10 am. “At 11:10 am, the victim began to be evacuated from the bottom of the ravine,” he said.

Half an hour later, Yuda was finally evacuated. Yuda was in a weak condition and suffered injuries to several parts of his body. “He was then referred to the Sanjiwani Gianyar Regional Hospital for medical treatment,” he said.
