Man found dead naked and bleeding in Mataram rented room
Muhammad Fahmi Al Bakri (50), a resident of Karang Bedil neighbourhood, Mataram Timur subdistrict, Mataram, was found dead naked and bleeding in a rented room in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
Mataram Police Station Chief AKP Amrozi Hamidi said the victim was first discovered by his brother Abdullah on Sunday (24 May 2026) evening. “They had not communicated for three days, so Abdullah decided to check on his brother at the rental room,” Amrozi said on Monday (25 May 2026).
When entering the room, Abdullah found his brother in a terrible state. The victim was discovered naked with blood coming from his body parts. “The witness found the victim lying on his back without clothing, with blood coming from the mouth, nose, and ears,” Amrozi said. The witness then shouted for help from nearby residents and reported to Mataram Police Station.
Based on preliminary checks, Amrozi said several witnesses last communicated with the victim around three days ago. Victim’s brother Saugi last spoke to him on Thursday (21 May 2026) evening via phone. “At that time, the victim mentioned plans to return to his brother’s house in Taman Indah neighbourhood, Pagesangan Timur subdistrict,” Amrozi said.
Meanwhile, the rental room owner, I Gede Wijaya, claimed his last face-to-face meeting with the victim was on Wednesday (20 May 2026) when he paid the rent.
The victim had a history of chronic illness. Family members said he suffered from liver disease and hepatitis. However, police are still conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
