Man Found Dead in South Jakarta Hotel Room, Suspected Suicide
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A man with the initials WH (47) was found dead, with a firearm discovered on the balcony of his hotel room in the Kuningan area of South Jakarta, on Wednesday (15 July) evening.
“This gentleman was staying at the hotel. He was accompanied there by a witness. Upon checking, he was found to have passed away,” said the Head of Public Relations for the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Joko Adi, speaking to reporters in Jakarta on Friday.
Joko said the man had been experiencing domestic problems with his wife.
He revealed that WH, as the husband, felt guilty in the relationship, and that he and his wife were trying to repair it.
“Initially, the husband felt he was in the wrong towards his wife. That day, they had actually been communicating well, and they intended to make amends,” he said.
Eventually, the man decided to stay at the hotel, where he was dropped off by his driver, who then remained in the car park.
Not long afterwards, his wife came to the hotel after receiving an apology message from her husband.
“Yes, that’s right, he had apologised. It was via WhatsApp, and the wife became suspicious, so she came to the hotel,” he said.
Police, who also received a report, immediately went to the scene and assisted in evacuating the body.
