Man Found Dead in Klungkung River Suspected Murder Victim, Gold Necklace Missing

The mystery surrounding the death of I Nyoman Cita (50), a lawar vendor from Negari Village, Banjarangkan District, Klungkung, Bali, is becoming clearer. The man, affectionately known as Man Colik, is strongly suspected to be a victim of murder and robbery. The reason is that the gold necklace he usually wore was missing from his body.

Klungkung Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Reno Chandra Wibowo, stated that the 70-gram gold necklace Man Colik wore daily was not found on the corpse. At present, the police are also still searching for the lawar vendor’s clothing. His body was found floating in the Tukad Bubuh river.

“It is true, the necklace the victim used daily was not found. Likewise, the victim’s shirt, trousers, and underwear are still in the process of being searched for by our team,” Reno told reporters on Thursday (2/7/2026).

The suspicion of murder and violent theft is further strengthened by three wounds found on Man Colik’s body. Reno added that his party is still waiting for the autopsy results on the lawar vendor’s body at Prof. Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar. “For more clarity, we are still waiting for the forensic test results,” he added.

While waiting for the autopsy results, the police have also processed the crime scene and examined a number of witnesses. This includes taking statements from the family and several of Man Colik’s colleagues at the stall where he worked.

It is known that Man Colik was found dead on Thursday morning. He had said goodbye to his family to bathe in the Tukad Bubuh river on Wednesday (1/7) evening, but never returned home. Concerned, the family and a joint team conducted a search until his body was finally found floating near the Ida Bagus Mantra Bypass bridge.
