Man found dead in Cipayung
JAKARTA (JP): A man was found dead on a bridge near the Jagorawi toll road, Cipayung, East Jakarta, the local police chief reported yesterday.
According to Major Tisnayoga, chief of the Ciracas police precinct, the man, who was later identified as Dukayu, 30, a resident of Cilangkap, East Jakarta, was beaten to death with a blunt object.
"We found that he had bruises on his back and head and that his nose had been bleeding," Tisnayoga said.
Police have not been able to determine a motive for the murder of Dukayu, who was, reportedly, unemployed. However, police strongly suspect that it was an act of revenge, since the victim's effects, including a Rp 20,000 banknote and five gram gold necklace were not stolen.
In an unrelated incident, an unidentified man was found dead in South Jakarta yesterday with a gunshot wound in his body, the local police reported.
The two bodies have been taken to the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital morgue for autopsies.(01)
