Man Found Dead at Neighbourhood Watch Post in Bogor on the Eve of Fast-Breaking
A man, identified as BA (35), was found dead at the neighbourhood watch post in Pakansari Village, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency. The victim was initially thought to be sleeping.
Cibinong Police Chief, Kompol Jonny Handoko, said that BA’s body was found by residents lying at the neighbourhood watch post on Tuesday (24/2/2026) at around 6:30 PM. Residents became suspicious when they saw the victim still lying at the post, even though it was already time to break the fast.
“After breaking the fast, the witness (initials PR) came out of the house and went to the neighbourhood watch post and saw the victim lying there, in a state of death,” said Jonny, in a statement on Wednesday (25/2/2026).
“The witness PR saw someone sitting at the neighbourhood watch post from his house in the afternoon, around 4:00 PM,” he added.
Jonny added that the victim was not carrying any identification when he was found, making it difficult to identify him. After further investigation by the police, the victim’s identity was revealed and his family was contacted.
“The victim was taken to the regional public hospital for an external examination and identification. After identification by the police, it was confirmed that the victim was named BA, 35 years old, from Legok Serang. His family has been contacted,” said Jonny.
Based on the initial examination, the victim is suspected of having died from illness. Information from the family states that the victim had a mental disorder.
“The victim is suspected of having died from illness, no signs of violence were found on his body. According to the family, the victim had a mental disorder,” he concluded.
