Man found dead at boarding house

JAKARTA (JP): A man was found dead in his room at a boarding
house on Jl. Kirai, North Cipete, in South Jakarta yesterday.

The victim, identified as Budi Santoso, 25, was an employee of
Mie Gunting restaurant in Senayan.

His body was found by the house owner who became suspicious
after not seeing Budi come out of his room for three days, Kateni
Suyani, the neighborhood leader, said.

"His suspicions grew when one of Budi's friends called from
his office asking about his whereabouts," Kateni said.

"The house owner later smelled something rotten from the room.
He then decided to break into the room and found him dead, laying
on the bed," he said.

Budi's body was then rushed to Cipto Mangunkusumo General
Hospital in Central Jakarta for an autopsy.

Kateni said Budi moved to Jakarta with his mother years ago.
However, they lived separately because his mother worked as a
housemaid in Karawaci, Tangerang.

"I didn't know him personally, but I saw him as a solemn young
man," he said. (04)
