Man Dies Suddenly in Hotel Room After Saying He Was Going to Change His Car's Oil
Fj (56), died suddenly inside a hotel room in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Before his mysterious death, the resident of Sumi Village, Lambu District, Bima Regency, said goodbye to his wife, saying he was going to change his vehicle’s oil.
“The victim was already dead when found in the hotel room,” said Head of Public Relations at the Bima City Police, Ipda Baiq Fitria Ningsih, confirmed to detikBali, on Sunday (17/5/2026).
Baiq Fitria revealed that before he died, the victim had met with someone in hotel room number 12 on Sunday (17/5) afternoon. After the meeting, the victim asked for permission to go to the bathroom.
“Not long after, the victim suddenly fell from the bed to the floor,” she said.
A number of people around the hotel came to help lift the victim. After being laid on the bed, the victim immediately stopped moving and was declared dead.
“The victim took one last breath before dying,” she said.
The police, who received a report, immediately went to the location. The Inafis team from the Bima City Police conducted a crime scene investigation, collected evidence, and asked for information from a number of witnesses.
“Meanwhile, the victim’s body was immediately taken to the Bima Regional General Hospital for a medical examination (visum),” she said.
Based on preliminary external examinations, no signs of violence were found on the victim’s body. Baiq Fitria said that the victim only suffered a scratch on his left eye due to hitting the floor when he fell.
“Based on the initial examination and from witness statements, there were no indications of criminal acts or signs of violence on the victim’s body,” she explained.
In addition, according to family information, the victim was in poor health. On Sunday (17/5) morning, the victim said goodbye to his wife to go to Bima City with the reason of changing his vehicle’s oil.
“The victim is suspected of experiencing sudden health problems which caused him to fall and die at the scene,” she concluded.
