Man dies in police cell

JAKARTA: A detainee was found dead inside his cell in the East
Jakarta police headquarters on Monday, city police reported on
Tuesday.

The man, identified as Diding Sujiyanto, 36, had been detained
for the past one month after being caught in possession of a bag
containing 27 packages of marijuana.

According to the police, the detainee was suffering from an
illness, which they refused to reveal the nature of.

The city police's medical unit certified the cause of death as
heart failure and handed the body of the deceased over to his
family for burial in a cemetery in Pasar Rebo, also in East
