Man Dies After Stabbing in Kampung Ambon, West Jakarta; Police Investigating

A stabbing incident in Kampung Ambon, West Jakarta, has gone viral on social media. The victim was found dead, with stab wounds, after apparently having a dispute with the assailant. Kombes Budi Hermanto, the Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, confirmed that the incident occurred on Thursday, 14 May 2026, at around 05:00 Western Indonesia Time, at Jalan Akik RT 008 RW 007, Kelurahan Kedaung Kaliangke, Kecamatan Cengkareng, Jakarta Barat.

The victim has been identified as a man with the initials OH, aged 39 years. “The victim suffered stab wounds and died,” Hermanto said.

Details of the chronology are not yet clear. The case is under investigation by the Cengkareng Police Sector (Polsek Cengkareng) and the West Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim Polres Metro Jakarta Barat); the suspect is currently under investigation.
