Man Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle While Crossing North Jakarta Toll Road

A man identified as JS died after being struck by a car on the Ir Sediyatmo Toll Road in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The victim was killed whilst crossing the toll road.

AKBP Ojo Ruslani, Deputy Head of Traffic Legal Subdivision at Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate, stated that the incident occurred on Saturday, 7 March 2026, at approximately 11:45 PM. The accident took place at kilometre marker 21.

“Initially, a four-wheeled vehicle with unknown registration and identity details was travelling from east to west. At kilometre marker 21, it struck pedestrian JS who was crossing the road,” Ojo stated in his statement on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Ojo said the victim died at the scene of the incident. The vehicle’s driver left the location immediately after the accident.

“As a result of the traffic accident, pedestrian JS died at the scene,” he said.

The case has been handled by the Traffic Legal Subdivision of Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate. Police are conducting further investigation into the matter.
