Man Confesses to Killing Midwife in Situbondo Using Stones Due to Jealousy

A midwife working at RSUD Besuki, Situbondo, identified as Murtafia Rafika Devi (34), has been killed by her husband, Ahmad Rizky Hidayaturrahman (32). The perpetrator carried out the killing using stones.

The Head of Criminal Investigation at Situbondo Police, AKP Selimat, stated that the case came to light after the suspect surrendered to the police following the murder. Based on his confession, police subsequently discovered the victim’s body in a drainage ditch.

“Initially, we received information that a resident had surrendered, claiming to have murdered his wife. We coordinated and then traced the location provided. Fortunately, the suspect has been secured at the Situbondo Police Headquarters. He arrived at approximately 5:00 AM,” said Selimat.

Following the evacuation, the body was taken to RSUD Abdoer Rahem Situbondo for an autopsy today. The autopsy results confirmed that the victim died after being struck with stones.

Selimat noted that the perpetrator’s brutal actions were triggered by feelings of jealousy towards the victim. This motive is still under further investigation by the police.

“The motive is jealousy and resentment towards his wife. We are still conducting further investigations into the specific nature of this jealousy,” Selimat added.
