Man Claims His Motorbike Was Seized by a Matel in West Jakarta; Police Probe

A man has claimed to be the victim of a vehicle seizure by debt collectors, also known as matel, on Jalan Daan Mogot, Kalideres, West Jakarta. Police are investigating the incident. According to a video seen on Thursday (5 March 2026), the man believed to be the matel victim was sitting at the roadside on Jalan Daan Mogot, Kalideres, West Jakarta. The incident allegedly occurred on Wednesday (4 March) in the early hours. The man said he was travelling along Jalan Daan Mogot when he was boxed in by several men who forcibly took the keys to his motorcycle. Afterwards, the victim was accused of delinquency in repayments.
